Summer in Reith i. Alpbachtal

Reith im Alpbachtal blooms!
From May to October, the whole village shines with extravagant flower beds, gardens and parks.
A real delight is the Hildegard von Bingen open garden, with a wide range of diverse herbs in the 900m² garden, planted according to traditional knowledge. Guided tours and a shop complement the garden perfectly.  Alongside its natural beauty, Reith im Alpbachtal is above all a paradise for families.

Mountain biking and cycling in Alpbachtal

Over 20 official mountain bike tours, 5 racing bike tours (tarmacked), the Inn valley cycle path, the Zillertal cycle path, two stages of the BIKE TRAIL TIROL and the Bikeschaukel Tirol can be found in the Alpbachtal Seenland region.  It can’t really be called an insider’s tip for mountain bikers any more, as the Transalp Challenge has often stopped here.  In addition to the numerous mountain bike tours in the Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps, as well as in the Rofan mountain range and the Brandenberg Alps, there are many great opportunities for the family to pedal along signposted routes to the best destinations in the region.  The adjacent bike shop "Alpbike" provides professional equipment as well as bikes to hire.

Hiking

Hike in the Tyrol between a mix of gentle and rugged mountain worlds.  The hiking paradise has 900km of trails.  The rugged Rofan range with peaks like Sonnwendjoch and Sagzahn have an impressive variety of flora and fauna.  The Zireiner lake is called the ‘blue eye of the Rofan’ and is one of the most photographed mountain lakes in the Tyrol.  In the Kitzbühl Alps, Alpbachtal, with its original alpine pastures and mountain huts is a hiking feast for both the eyes and the stomach.  The three natural gorges in Brandenberg and Kundl are among the most popular walks in the region.  From Reith im Alpbachtal, an 8-seater cable car takes just under eight minutes to reach the Reither Kogel. Families and walkers in particular will feel very well provided for here. The 2.5km-long experiential circular walk with the name ‘Juppi Zauberwald’ has some impressive play areas set in the woods, and a viewing platform.

Swimming lakes and swimming pools

In the middle of the village of Reith can be found a beautiful swimming lake offering both relaxation and fun. The swimming lake has a large meadow for sunbathing, toilets and changing rooms, a children's play area, a paddling area, a diving board and a café.  There is nice walk with a view of the lake, which is very popular.
Four more wonderful swimming lakes and three outdoor swimming pools all invite you to refresh yourself and cool off. Plus in the swimming pools in Wörgl and Fügen, with water slides, you can swim away from any bad weather.
Bubbling springs, crystal-clear mountain streams, thundering rivers in the gorges
and the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol are waiting to be discovered. Whoever wants an adventure in the water can get a rush of adrenalin while riding a tube, going whitewater swimming or rafting.
